Croatia

DUBROVNIK

The guesthouse I stayed at

Lots of stairs in Dubrovnik

The residential area

Gate to the Old Town

City walls

The city was built right up to the cliffs

Old Town and the hills above. You're not supposed to walk the hills because not all the mines have been found from the 1991 war against the Yugoslav People's Army.

Half of Old Town

The other half of Old Town

Each black triangle and circle represents artillery damage sustained during the '91 siege of Dubrovnik

Faded roofs are original. The new red roofs mean the originals were destroyed during the siege.

In some cases, they didn't bother to rebuild

Dubrovnik harbor

Walking the city walls at sunset

A Dubrovnik "beach"

Church of St. Blaise

Digital clock tower

Always nice to see artillery soldiers get recognition

The south walls

Fortress Lovrijenac. Supposedly built in 3 months.

Lokrum

View from the ferry to Lokrum

Swimming hole

Another Croatian "beach"

Lokrum harbor

View of Lokrum from the highest point on the island

View of Dubrovnik from Lokrum
